What's on your mind...

Seriously?
Lauren Hamilton's 411

We all got a story,

including
Lauren Hamilton.

Though Lauren didn't realize she was gay until her adolescant years, she knew her purpose in life was to put pen to paper as a small child.  Journals, short stories, screenplays, you name it, she wrote it...except poems. Yeah, they just weren't her thang.

Until she won Poet Laureate of her high school.

Ya know how we all have a defining moment in our life that completely changes the direction of where we thought we were headed?  Welp, this was Lauren's.

From that point on, she knew writing was her passion.  And, going to NYU film school only confirmed what she already knew -- there's so much love and power in words.  And the native Californian will tell everyone New York took her writing to another level from her participation with The Chris Rock Program to getting her work critiqued by talented writers at NYU on a daily basis.

Lauren: "Well, to be real, I got great training in my craft in New York, but the people component got lost.  While I was tucked away creating stories near a bright light, I forgot about my neighbor or the person I'd hear gettin' down on some drums in Central Park.  Their stories, which were probably more important than the ones I was making up, were never seen because I never bothered to look up."

Sometimes we let life pass us by even when we're living, or so we think.  In addition to screenwriting, Lauren is now back in California working on her blog and web show, "3 Minute Conversations" in which she talks intimately with someone, or a few peeps, about a hot topic, such as bad kissing.

Lauren: "We're all Human Beings and connected in more ways than we know.  Yes, I'm a writer, but I'm also a person who loves other peeps and understanding their opinions, ideas, etc.  3 Minute Conversations is not just about breaking it down and keeping it real; it's also meant to show how similar we all are in this universe."
